I have over 10 years experience in the field of mental health services. Since 2003 I have provided psychotherapy and case management services to adults in residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment, and being the Clinical Director for Ohlhoff Recovery Programs from 2007 to 2015. I have provided psychotherapy, risk reduction counseling, and peer support group services to HIV-positive and negative individuals, and to mixed HIV status couples at the UCSF AIDS Health Project.
In my years of experience I have frequently worked with individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, sexual identity issues, relationship difficulties and trauma.
I have been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is a cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy emphasizing skills building in the areas of Mindfulness, Emotional Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
I have received additional training in Seeking Safety, which is a present-focused therapy model that assists individuals to attain safety from trauma and substance abuse.
